Brunswick Music Festival 2017

Date: 5 – 19 March, 2017
Location: Brunswick Town Hall

Festival Information

Brunswick Music Festival is Australia’s longest running inner-city music festival, an institution much loved by Melbourne and proudly presented by Moreland City Council. Whilst Brunswick strikes a musical chord on any given day year round, during Brunswick Music Festival it hits its high note. With a near 30-year history, it’s one of Melbourne’s biggest, genre-diverse annual music happenings.

For two special weeks in March,  Festival acts and attendees occupy all the familiar places, unforeseen spaces, streets and sidewalks of Brunswick. Brunswick Music Festival ensures its suburb lives up to the accolade of number one Australian suburb for songwriters and its reputation as home to creativity and culture.

A free and ticketed program of scorching genre-straddling performances and experiences comes courtesy of both top-shelf artists from all around the world and our own extraordinary known-and-loved local artists and record labels. It includes premiere venue and outdoor concerts, street parties, club shows, showcases, special commissions, launches and intimate late-night programming.

To kick off the Festival, Sydney Road Street Party sees upwards of 60,000 people fill Sydney Road from Union to Victoria Streets, for a day of music, performances, food and culture that puts the cornucopia of Moreland’s diversity front and centre. To close, Music For The People, a free family concert, continues the celebration of Moreland’s cultural riches with an evening of music, food, activities and more.
